Fantastic Mr Fox is a trickster-adventure story by British author Roald Dahl. Mr. Fox is (of course) fantastic, he faces seemingly impossible odds to survive. His shenanigans become legendary as he outwits three devilish rich men in order to steal food. The book was turned into a popular movie of the same name in 2009 with George Clooney voicing the lead character. In order for this team effort to be effective, good communication skills must exist between medical professionals. Many times, messages can be altered and interpreted differently; if the conditions for transmission barriers develop. Essay on My Views on God and the Nature of the Universe

A worldview is an opinion on how you see society as a whole. Each person’s worldview is impacted by their culture, religion, family friends, etc. I am a Pentecostal Christian and a Romanian and these two aspects impact my worldview immeasurably. Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior and He died on the cross for each person on this Earth. Even though each person has sinned and turned their backs on God countless times, Christ was always there for us no matter what we did. His love is greater than any love we have ever encountered and His grace is immensely great. Working in the HR department required me to make sure that employees were well looked after and did not have any problems. In any business the employees are the number one asset, so it is important to make sure that they are adequately compensated in areas such as salary, time off, and overall employee satisfaction. I carried out my task by going around and giving out surveys and occasionally conducting employee interviews to see which areas of the workplace could be improved upon in order to increase their motivation and satisfaction. Because I was just an intern, I had no attachment or personal relationship to any of the employees, so I could be objective. D. In 50 words or more what skills did you develop/demonstrate as a result of working on this objective? I showed good interviewing skills and the ability to only include important information. There were many times when the employee could not express his or her feelings efficiently, so I had to take their major grievances and focus on that. Also, I developed good listening skills because I was required only to ask questions and then take down their answers. E. In 50 words or more how did this objective benefit the organization/company? This objective benefitted the organization because employee opinions and feelings were able to be expressed in a manner that was non-threatening. In order to understand the requirements of the HR department, I was moved around a few different positions in order to understand what an HR department actually does. At first I was assigned to the assistant HR manager, who gave me small tasks to complete and generally helped me along by giving me advice and comments where appropriate. After some time, I was moved to work alongside some regular employees of the HR department so that I could see what their work tasks and responsibilities were. After the HR manager felt that I was ready, she gave me my own desk in the office and I had more freedom to work on my own. D. The skill that I developed as a result of working on this objective was the able to listen and learn from others. My initial experience required a lot of patience because I was gently introduced to the inner workings of the company, but as I grew in knowledge, I was able to apply what I had learned. E. In 50 words or more how did this objective benefit the organization/company? This objective did not really benefit the company as such because it was more about me learning how to perform the job. I guess the company benefitted because I was able to learn their practices and then use them during my internship. There was a specific person assigning to sign and check the pay slips of the employees; that person was not me. My responsibility was to verify the number of hours worked by any given employee by checking the digital records to see if the matched up with the number of hours that had been checked in on the pay slips. Additionally, I had to prepare pay slips for the next payment period by organizing the employees’ information. My role was to check that the employees’ names, work numbers, and projected number of hours were all corresponding so that there were no discrepancies. D. The skill that I developed as a result of working on this objective was the ability to accurately calculate the earnings of every single employee who worked for the company. Trust was another skill that I developed, although there was no opportunity for me to alter the pay slips since there were digital copies that were stored on the main server, which I did not have access to. This objective benefitted the company greatly because they needed someone to be able to check that the salaries of employees matched the number of hours that they worked. I worked with some other members of the HR department to come up with a new set of HR policies for the company. This involved going through the old HR policies and deciding which ones were still relevant, and should obviously be kept, and which policies could be either updated or removed entirely. The HR policies were divided up into sections; I was given a small section to go over. I was told to highlight any policies that may not seem relevant any more. The previous set of HR policies were initiated more than 15 years ago, which is a long time in business. D. As a result of working on this objective, I was able to see what HR policies are important for a company and which ones were obsolete. My role was only to highlight the policies that I thought might need looking at, so there was no chance of me changing their HR policies entirely. E. The company had realized that some of its HR policies were no longer relevant, so they needed to go through a process to update their policies. Once the recommendations were made, they were then forwarded onto top management, who could then discuss which new policies could work and which were not doable. Learning Objective 5 A. An important part of being in any HR department is the ability to communicate with fellow employees and listen to their complaints. Once a week, I was tasked with heading a meeting with the department heads to listen to any queries that they may have had and what the HR department could do to help. It was my job to then take these complaints and present them to the head of the HR department, who could then meet with individual department heads if the situation required. My role was more of a go-between, so I had to be able to take in information and communicate it in an efficient manner. D. The skill that I developed most as a result of working on this objective was to be able to relay information. This required me to figure on what information was irrelevant and what was vitally important for the well-being of the business. Top management only wanted to hear pressing needs, so this was something that I had to figure out. E. In 50 words or more how did this objective benefit the organization/company? This objective benefitted the organization because I was able to cut down on the response time of management, who are often too busy too handle small complaints. Because I was able to only bring important issues to them, top management had more time to complete other tasks such as coming up with new strategic plans and the like.

Here is where the viewer begins to sympathize with Greg and his family and I believe this was the intention of the programmer. As the interviewer talks to Gregg father he explains that after Greg developed Trustees he was feeling down and even went to see his GAP about it – the doctor told him he was suffering depression over the loss of a child, and Serge’s father was getting emotional while repeating this memory then he said†¦ â€Å"And it was true, I felt like I had lost a son. â€Å". I think there are many parts of Serge’s childhood (or what we see of it) that are very hard-hitting and this Is when the viewer begins to realize that the condition Is truly dreadful. At one point Greg tells about a time when he was young he Just wanted â€Å"IT† o stop and he actually was begging his parents to kill him. As the younger Greg Is being interviewed we find that he is a very articulate and eloquent child. He explains now Nils tic makes NV swear sometimes Ana nest saying something Like â€Å"l I know if I should say it†¦. ‘Shut your F***inning gob’ â€Å". When he says this the last part is whispered and this emphasizes his innocence and proves that it can truly happen to anyone. What I found most interesting about Greg is that he doesn’t associate the tic as being himself, to him it is a different person and he even compares himself to Googol’. A few people might be familiar with John Davison because when he first developed Trustees at the age of sixteen, a documentary was made about him called â€Å"John’s Not Mad† (1988) and we see clips from this documentary in the latest one, I think we see the clips of his youth and so on to emphasis that this condition does not Just come and go, it is ALWAYS there, and it shows John’s constant suffering. Also when Greg first developed Trustees (when he was seven) a documentary was made about him, and this included John at the age of thirty â€Å"The Boy Can’t Help It. . As we e clips of John we see the difference between him and Greg almost immediately; John had to endure his illness through a time where it was virtually unknown so people’s understanding and acceptance was minimal. We learn all about John’s life and how he deals with the Trustees. He goes to support groups where he has a good friend called Chopper, who also has Trustees. We l earn that John works in a community centre with children, and we wonder could this be because he missed out on his childhood because of his Trustees? He says in the interview that he feels left out and likes to work with kids and it’s â€Å"nice to get a hug†. I believe this shows that sometimes John feels truly isolated from the rest of the world, and this brings the viewer to an understanding of John – and we feel more connected because of how personal this documentary is. We learn that John’s family wasn’t as half as understanding as Gregg which made John’s teenage years all the more unbearable. In some clips from â€Å"John’s Not Mad† we see a canteen full of teenagers but no sign of John, that’s where the camera skips to another room where John is sitting all alone eating his food. This emphasizes his isolation as a youth. As we find out more about John’s family we discover that John hardly sees them now because they’re all living their own lives in other places†¦. This makes the viewer think that the family was not, and still is not, very understanding and accepting of his condition, almost as if they’re ashamed of him? But he goes on to explain how he’s got a sort of ‘surrogate family with a woman called Dorothy/Dotty. He goes on to mention that he eats round at their house three to four times a week. I believe this is to show the viewer a glimmer of hope, show that even the loneliest of people can still find friendship and even the Emily they always wished they had. I did not realize that this could happen. But there is a clip of John as a young man eating a meal with his family and he’s putting food in his mouth but then spitting some of it back out again. The viewer then realizes that this is probably why he ate alone as a young man and also realizes how many aspects of a person’s life Trustees can affect. There is one particular scene which really did shock me, it was when John and Dotty were shopping and heir stood in an aisle looking at something when suddenly John smacks Dotty in the face. I think this clip emphasizes how little the common knowledge about Trustees is, that people don’t even realize what it is and simply think the person is doing it willingly. Another friend makes the statement â€Å"He lives with it – why can’t R†. This is a major statement in the documentary because it shows how things have changed and how different ages react differently to things, for a boy of fifteen to say something like this emphasizes the maturity of people in this situation. In an interview John says that he accepts his illness and even goes as far as to say if his illness was gone then he would miss it. All he wants is one day, Just one day, where e has no tics at all. But Greg is mentioning he actually had a day like this, he says that it was the best day of his life’ and he wishes to have another like it. This makes the viewer feel compassion when we realize that although Greg has had a â€Å"free day’ – he will probably never get another one in his lifetime, and the fact that John is nearing his forties makes you wonder if he will EVER get such a day. I believe the purpose of this programmer was to raise awareness and increase understanding of Trustees Syndrome, because most people see it as a very funny sort of illness because it makes people swear. In all fairness the affliction can be quite funny and light-hearted at times and I think this was the producer’s aim, to get people laughing first and then it would be more of a shock to them when it actually came to the serious stuff. Also it was to let the previous viewers (the ones who watched â€Å"John’s Not Mad† and â€Å"The Boy Can’t Help It†) know how these people were doing. When you’re watching a documentary like this, I believe you start to care about the particular person because the programmer is so detailed and personal you almost feel as if you really know them. I believe the target audience for this was a very wide en. Greg is my age so I think people my age would find it interesting and reasonably easy to relate to Greg, and a lot of people are interested in Trustees after Pete Bennett, a sufferer of Trustees, who won Big Brother 7. It was somewhat of a phenomenon, and this is where the real awareness first rose, but people stereotyped Trustees to be funny, quirky, something laughable. Unfortunately the true illness was never fully explained; Trustees is a neurological condition (a condition that affects the nervous system). It causes both physical and verbal tics, which are involuntary repetitive movements or sounds. Watching it for the first time has more of an effect on you than watching it a second time, so it was good for me being a first time viewer. Part of it makes me want to watch the other two wows but I realize that Vive already seen the ending so it would be a bit pointless. I would definitely recommend this to others, it is important for people to know about and understand this illness. So, in conclusion I enjoyed watching this show and I’m glad to have learned so much about a subject that was practically unknown to me.
